Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be received by a Great Explorers Safaris’ representative and transferred to your hotel, check in at Karibu Guesthouse, your home for the night. Lunch is on own account, depending on your flight, visit the botanical gardens and later enjoy a sunset cruise with drinks and snacks bar at an extra cost. Dine and overnight at Karibu Guesthouse. 

Day 2: Fly to Kidepo National Park.

After breakfast at your Hotel in Entebbe, you will be transferred to the airport to catch your charter flight to Kidepo National Park. Upon arrival you will go for an evening game drive along the Narus River Valley for game viewing and photography of Elephants, herds of Buffaloes, Jackals, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Klipspringer and possibly Lions. Dine and overnight at Apoka Lodge.

Day 3: Game Viewing in Kidepo Valley.

After an early breakfast, go for morning game drive to Kanangorok hot spring. A variety of animals can be seen roaming around including the flightless Ostriches and after return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon you will have a cultural experience that will bring into contact with Karamojong people at Karenna and Kapedo. Meet the local elders and have an opportunity to interact with them. They will show you the kraals, the grinding stones and many more interesting items and thereafter you will return to the lodge.

Overnight at Apoka Lodge (Full Board)

Day 4, Birding Tours, and Wildlife Safari in Kidepo Valley.

After breakfast, you will visit the abandoned Katurum Lodge which was built by Idi Amin, this impressive structure is worth a visit for the views alone. A must for birders, look out for Fox Kestrel, Eastern Chanting Goshawk, Grasshopper Buzzard, Montague’s Harrier, Fan Tailed Raven and the very rare Stone Partridge. Overnight and dine Apoka Lodge.

Day 5, Guided Nature Walks and Fly back to Entebbe

After breakfast, visit the bird hide and enjoy a guided nature walk. Return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch board your chartered flight back to Entebbe where our representative will pick you and transfer you to Karibu Guesthouse. Overnight and dine Karibu Guesthouse.

Day 6: Departure

On this final day of your safari in Uganda, you will have an early morning breakfast at the guesthouse and depending on your flight time, you will be transferred by the hotel to catch your international flight home.
