Day 1 of 8 days Uganda-Rwanda Gorilla Trip

Day of Arrival in Rwanda at Kigali International Airport, you’ll meet our professional and knowledgeable company representative whom will be waiting to welcome and transfer you to the hotel for dinner and overnight as you prepare for the first tourist activity.

During the Transfer, he or she will be taking you through some interesting history you would want to hear about Rwanda and Uganda as well as explaining to you some parts of the itinerary.                 

Day 2 of 8

After your morning breakfast at your hotel, safari activities being by exploring Kigali capital city for half a day.

Fall in love sightseeing the landscapes of the city and visits to Gisozi Genocide memorial to reflect on what happened to most Rwandese during the 1994 genocide that sparked off between the Hutu and Tutsi ethnic groups. In the morning of your second day, explore the Historical Kigali City and after lunch transfer to Volcanoes National Park for Rwanda gorilla trekking safari activity on the following day.

Have breakfast at your hotel in the morning and start your safari activities by exploring Kigali Capital city of Rwanda for a half day starting 8am.

Continue exploring Kigali and visit its markets to explore true business style off Africa before settling for lunch at Hotel Mille Collines.

After lunch transfer to Volcanoes national park with a leisurely drive of about 3hours, (116kms) in the North eastern direction of Rwanda.

Enjoy sightseeing of the rolling hills of Rwanda enroute and arrive at the lodge in Volcanoes National park in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3 of 8

Early morning Mountain Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park Rwanda after transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park for a gorilla trekking safari activity in Uganda on the following day.

However, one needs a Gorilla permit to have access to the Gorillas and we advise you to book 4 months prior because the permits are on high demand.

In the early morning before 8am, gather at Kinigi Park station for a briefing while you enjoying the traditional Intore performances and cup of energizing coffee before starting the gorilla trekking activity.

At 8am, you will start the gorilla trekking activity using distinctive trailheads in a group of maximum eight visitors under the guidance of professional and knowledgeable ranger guides-with ability to protect you in the thick forest.

The general gorilla trekking encounter lasts between 4-8hours depending on the movements of the respective gorilla family that you are allocated to by the park authorities during the briefing.

Gorilla Trekking

Sometimes allocating a particular gorilla group depends on the ability of the visitors. Those with less stamina are allocated to nearby and easily traceable gorilla families compared to the most adventurous and energetic youths.

The actual time spent with the gorillas is strictly one hour and this time is limited because of the need to conserve the critically endangered mountain gorillas

Utilize the one hour of encounter with gorillas to take photos with the gorillas as much as you can. But endeavor to maintain the 7m rule however much the young gorillas like playing with people.

Keeping distance away from these animals is because their health is sensitive, any disease from humans can easily attack and kill these gorillas and of course we are all responsible towards their conservation.

The experience with gorillas is very amazing and memorable for life. Retreat from the gorilla trekking activity back to the starting point and depart to cross the Cyanika border from Rwanda to Uganda.

While you enjoy the fascinating views of the Virunga massif which is shared by Rwanda, Uganda and DRC. Arrive at the hotel in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park Uganda in the evening, have leisure, dinner and overnight.

Day 4 of 8

On this day of you Rwanda Uganda wildlife and Gorilla safari, do wake up early in the morning and do Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National park and then after, enjoy an evening relaxation and overnight.

This is another day of Mountain gorilla trekking and it will be done in Uganda in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Get ready in the morning for a briefing at the park headquarters at 8am and after you embark on the trails into the rough.

Thick landscapes of Bwindi dubbed impenetrable forest because of its slippery and steep surface, and the narrow valley in very thick forest cover.

Mountain Gorilla trekking in Uganda is quite challenging because of the dense vegetation cover of Bwindi Forest national park but very amazing and adventurous as you traverse through the forest,

The songs of forest birds, scents of tree flowers and sights of colored butterflies as well as other primates entertain you along the way to the Mountain gorillas.

Upon sight of Gorillas, then you automatically forget all the trekking experience and enjoy one of the best tours that one can enjoy in Africa.

Take photo shoots with the mountain gorillas while the guides explain to you more about the gorillas. The whole gorilla trekking activity lasts from 4-8 hours but

The actual encounter with the gorillas is one hour for purposes of conservation. The safari experience you obtain from here will require you to come back and visit Africa for the same cause.

Day 5 of 8

Wake up early dawn for breakfast at the lodge and start your journey to Queen Elizabeth national park (309km, while on your way make a stop in Ishasha sector for a short time game drive searching for endangering tree-climbing lions and enroute stop for lunch.

After a two hours game drive in Ishasha Sector, continue to the lodge in Queen Elizabeth National park for dinner, relaxation and overnight.

Day 6 of 8

Game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park in the morning and do a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel in the afternoon.

You will do another game drive in the evening in search of more wildlife on your day six of Rwanda Uganda wildlife and gorilla tour.

Leave the lodge in the early morning to Kasenyi sector for a game drive where you have higher chances of exploring remarkable wildlife such as leopards, lions, elephants, buffaloes, spotted hyenas.

Among others and the birds with a vast number of over 600 species that inhabit Queen Elizabeth national park. After about 3-4 hours of game driving in the Kasenyi sector of Queen Elizabeth national park.

Return to the lodge for lunch and short time relaxation. Gather at Mweya jetty for the amazing boat launch along the magnificent Kazinga Channel where you will enjoy the sightseeing of various animals, crocodiles and many water bird species along the shores of the Kazinga.

The boat cruise experience lasts for two hours and then do a game drive in the evening along the channel track to search for wildlife. Arrive at the lodge in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 7 of 8

Visit Kalinzu Forest Reserve for Chimpanzee trekking before transferring to Lake Bunyonyi dubbed the lake of a thousand hills.

You will leave the lodge to Kalinzu Forest Reserve station for a briefing.

The chimpanzee trekking tour in Kalinzu forest involve entering into this impenetrable forest escorted by the professional ranger guide and begin your search for Chimpanzees-the closest relatives to humans with 98%DNA.

As you traverse into the forest, you expect to explore numerous species of birds, and other species of primates in the lush flora.

The chimpanzee trekking experience takes between 2-5 hours   including one hour of an actual encounter with the chimpanzees.

Use the limited time you spend with the chimpanzees analyzing their way of life as they pant hooting calls, forage and socialize among others.

Retreat from the chimpanzee trekking activity and transfer with a leisurely drive while you enjoy the amazing sightseeing of countryside local plantations and cattle farms en route. Arrive at the lodge in Lake Bunyonyi in the evening for leisure, relation and overnight.

Day 8 of 8

Explore a boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi with its 29 islands dubbed the lake of a thousand islands.

Enjoy the soothing freshness of the beautiful lake bunyonyi in the morning, after breakfast on a boat or conae ride or canoe paddle ride for the most adventurous. Retire from a 4hour drive (196km) transfer to Kigali capital for an overnight and other personal arrangements or to Kigali international airport for a flight back home with a lifetime experience from Uganda and Rwanda.
