11 DAY UGANDAN AMAZING SAFARI

Day 1:  Arrival, Kampala City and transfer to hotel

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by one of our team who will transfer you to your hotel where you can relax for the rest of the day. If arriving on an early flight, there are options for a Kampala City Tour (ask for details)

Day 2: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary & Murchison Falls National Park

After an early breakfast depart Kampala City and to drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. En-route you will see traditional Ugandan villages and culture. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is the only place in Uganda that you can track and see white rhinos on foot. You have a full safety briefing and accompanied by our guide who will track the rhinos, for an amazing experience. Leave Ziwa, have lunch on the way to Murchison Falls National Park, then check in to your lodge to relax and enjoy dinner.

Day 3:  Murchison Falls National Park Game Drive & Falls Hike

After early breakfast depart for your game drive through Murchison Falls National Park, largest of Uganda’s savannahs, with 76 species of wildlife including lions, elephant, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, gazelle and many more. Here are over 450 species of birds. Visit the famous Murchison Falls (world’s most powerful waterfall), where you can hike on top of the falls. Later return to your lodge for dinner and sundowners.

Day 4:  Kibale National Park

Drive 370 km, (or option to fly) to Kibale National Park through many villages and communities. Kibale is the primate capital of the world. Mainly forested, 795 sq. km in area, is best known for chimpanzees and 13 other primate species. On arrival check into your lodge in the afternoon, take lunch and relax. Enjoy dinner later in preparation for a busy day. 

Day 5:  Kibale National Park – Chimp Trekking – Queen Elizabeth National Park

Take an early breakfast and head off to chimpanzee tracking. You will be met by a guide and briefed about your next adventure before heading into the forest where you will see other primates, wildlife and many birds. Return to your lodge for lunch, then head off and visit the Bigodi community. You will interact with the locals, and learn a little about their culture, then go on to the wetland sanctuary where over 160 bird species have been noted. Later we depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, check in your lodge and have dinner.

Day 6:  Queen Elizabeth National Park Game Drive & Kazinga Cruise

After early breakfast head out for an early morning game drive and experience a medley of wonders. Queen Elizabeth is the most popular park in Uganda with crater lakes, forested gorges, savannah plains, swamps and rivers. See buffalo, giraffe, leopard, antelope, zebra, amazing birdlife and monkeys. After lunch go on a 3-4 hour spectacular wildlife cruise to experience the Kazinga Channel which connects Lakes George and Edward and the Mweya Peninsula. Later return to your lodge for dinner.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast you will depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, one of Uganda’s foremost attractions. Pass through Ishasha the southern-most area of Queen Elizabeth National Park and see the famous tree-climbing lions. Bwindi is source of five major rivers that flow to Lake Edward, home of half of the world’s mountain gorillas, and an impressive species list: 350 birds, 310 butterflies, 200 trees, 51 reptiles, 88 moths, and 120 mammals. Drive passed Ishasha near the border of the Congo where most likely to see the tree climbing lions then return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8:  Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Gorilla Trekking

After breakfast, meet your guide for a brief then head out to track and trace the world famous magnificent and rare mountain gorillas, found exclusively in south-western Uganda forest of Bwindi and Virunga National Parks. After lunch you will meet and learn about the Batwa pygmy community who inhabit the forest. Later return to your lodge to relax and enjoy dinner.

Day 9: Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast leave for Biharwe Eclipse Monument, visit Igongo Museum showing cultural heritage of the Nkore and Kigezi peoples with a traditional homestead. After lunch arrive at the exceptional Lake Mburo National Park, check in, and take time out to relax before early dinner. Later meet your guide and enjoy a special night game drive unique to Mburo, where you may see leopard, mongoose, genet cats and spotted hyena. 

Day 10: Lake Mburo National Park

After a leisurely breakfast take a morning game drive. The favorable climate means a variety of opportunities to locate the largest zebra herd in Uganda, or see Impala which are only found here. After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise great for croc and hippo spotting, or those keen enough, can take a horseback safari which allows you to get even closer to the game. Later relax, enjoy dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Lake Mburo – Kampala City Tour

After breakfast depart for Kampala City and you stop over for your lunch, transfer back to Entebbe International Airport or drop off at your hotel in Kampala City.
